CONSEQUENCE OF SOUND presents REEPERBAHN FESTIVAL NYC EDITION during A2IM INDIE WEEK 2017
Watch a recap of last year’s debut NYC edition here
The world-famous Reeperbahn Festival, which was voted Best European Indoor Festival at last year’s European Festival Awards, came to the US for the very first time during last year’s A2IM Indie Week. Today, the festival has detailed its return to America: a second Reeperbahn Festival NYC Edition will again take place during the Wednesday of Indie Week, June 7. Consequence of Sound will present this year’s event, which Pianos is hosting. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 7:30pm; Consequence of Sound has the full details and a public ticket giveaway here (this is the only way that the public can access the event). The festival will be recording video of the night, which will be available to media upon request following the event.
At Pianos, a swath of international delegates—a far greater number of attendees than last year have already pre-registered—will converge for an alternating stage setup promising seven artists in just four hours. Attendees from over twenty European record labels, management firms, distributors, conventions, and government export offices will meet American media, industry, and fans (for whom entry is exclusively through Consequence of Sound) for sets from Carnival Youth, We Bless This Mess, Leyya, Lydmor, Albin Lee Meldau, Megan Bonnell, and Olivier St. Louis. Set times and listening links are provided below.
Just before this year’s Reeperbahn Festival NYC Edition, ANCHOR, the festival’s new accolade for the most promising emerging talent, will host a press conference at A2IM Indie Week in nearby cultural center The Clemente (6pm). The legendary, David Bowie-associated producer Tony Visconti will reveal the ANCHOR 2017 jury during the press conference, which will be moderated by Music Week‘s US editor, Emmanuel Legrand. ANCHOR 2016 winner Albin Lee Meldau will talk about his rapid career development and Reeperbahn Festival director Alexander Schulz will be available for questions.
Media: please reach out if you’re interested in attending and covering the showcase, press conference, or both!
