The Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City and the Mayor’s Office of Media and Entertainment
(MOME) are joining forces to create 100 career-making opportunities within New York’s media and
entertainment industries. As part of the new public-private Media & Entertainment Momentum Fund, MOME and The Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York have pledged to provide financing for 100 paid summer internships within local small to mid-scale media firms and entertainment industry businesses.
This partnership builds upon the success of NYC Ladders for Leaders, a nationally recognized program that places a diverse mix of our city’s best and brightest high school and undergraduate college students into paid, professional summer internships with employers citywide.
Each candidate is placed following a competitive application and selection process, and all selected participants receive 30 hours of pre-employment training. More than a third of the interns that participated last year received offers of ongoing employment, and 98 percent of employers reported a positive experience.
If your organization would like information on having a funded Ladders for Leaders intern this summer, please contact Shira Gans at MOME, [email protected].
